The Grayscale Blog was created by Terry and Amy Wisner. This father-daughter duo joined forces in July 2016 to start an anti-ageism movement. Their mission is to change the narrative about aging by positively impacting perceptions and behaviors in the workplace and life.
“We call ourselves the anti-anti-aging people,” says Terry. “It’s a catchy way of communicating our pro-aging stance. We want people to embrace aging, not fight it. Let’s face it, if we’re lucky we’ll each get older everyday. Whether you’re 40, 50, 60, or older, you have a lot to offer this world. We hope to help you, and everyone around you, realize that.”
Who should read the Grayscale Blog? Well…everybody. Whether you’re young or old, you likely have a lot to learn about ageism. According to Amy, “Ageism is the invisible -ism. As people age, we begin to face negative stereotypes that go unquestioned. Our goal is to shine a light on the negative perceptions and behaviors related to aging. We want to help people realize the value of all people, regardless of age.”
